The Texas dust has settled and everyone seems to be over their jetlag, so it seems appropriate to check out what everyone has been up to since they've got back. Have any thoughts distilled and has anyone had any eureka moments?

Scouring the various delegates blogs shows that many have been actively writing about their experiences. In no particular order, here are some links to their work.

Nat Higginbottom my trusted partner in crime had lots to say about his time there as well as producing all the HeartofAustin content, and some of it even made it on to the web! http://www.exsanguinator.co.uk/

Neil Houston has found Danah Boyd's "Making sense of Privacy and Publicity" talk at SxSW 2010 worth writing about here http://rasga.co.uk/2010/03/24/privacy-and-publicity-are-they-at-odds/ and I know there wil be more to come soon as he filters more.

Supercool's James Coleman had this to say "If you’re involved with technology, communication, digital or traditional media, communities or any business for that matter, I highly recommend it." See more here http://www.supercooldesign.co.uk/index.php/default/blogentry/sxsw_an_overview/ and here http://www.supercooldesign.co.uk/index.php/default/blogentry/sxsw_why_you_are...

Ruth Ward, MD of Rewired PR, though posting already from SxSW has had further thoughts since. Read about 10 Rules for Effective Brand Fiction http://www.rewiredpr.com/blogs/entry/10_rules_for_effective_brand_fiction/

Ellie Lovell from The University of Warwick found her her blogging Mojo once she retuned from Austin- some of her thoughts are here http://ellielovell.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/mojo/

Mars Elkins went to SxSW and posted every day that she was there- Her final post can be found here http://martianlanding.wordpress.com/2010/03/16/sxsw4/

Fiona Cullinan has been really getting into her thoughts on SxSW http://fionacullinan.com/ with her usual quirky and relevant insights. Lovely to read!

John Newbold of 383 was again very quick of the mark and summed up his last day of SxSW experience here http://www.383project.com/blog/news/sxsw-final-day-interactive-infographics/ , as a fan of data visualisation, I really enjoyed this post.

Jason Hall from Screen WM has shared his notes here http://bit.ly/8WZOwI and blogged some thoughts here http://www.screenwm.co.uk/blogs/author/jason_hall/ though I think I will have to take some time to interpret his Spotify "notes" on the Daniel Ek SXSW Keynote!

Screen WM also sent Sarah Arnesen over to texas, her thoughts and some pics are here http://www.screenwm.co.uk/blogs/detail/849/home_of_metal_launch_at_sxsw/

BCU Social Media MA Student Jigar Patel found the rigours of SxSW hindered his blogging http://jigarpatel.us/hanging-around-and-i-suck-at-this-blogging-th

Maverick TV's Nick Lockey captured his SxSW in Photographs http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicklockey/sets/72157623650842174/ as well as a little fun here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbE35yxdhoE

Chris Unitt has given us a glimpse of more to come from http://www.chrisunitt.co.uk/2010/03/back-from-sxsw/ and here at Meshed Media too http://meshedmedia.com/meshed-media-at-sxswi/

Helga Henry has not written specifically about SxSW but as she's on the Clore Fellowship work placement in New York, I'm sure she's still got plenty to filter, you can follow her adventure here http://helgahenry.posterous.com/

Tracy Playle of Pickle Jar Communications gave her insights here http://www.picklejarcommunications.com/blog/ and some of it struck a chord about how the wider audience provides as much buzz as the expert panels

As for The Tweeture, http://www.wearemudlark.com/blog/the-tweeture-set-to-destroy-sxswi-next-week/ I wonder what it's thoughts on SxSW 2010 were!

Fused Magazine's Uber cool couple Kerry and Dave gave their take here http://fused.posterous.com/ and it has a smashing podcast too

Lots of other amazing brits were over in Texas too- Can't wait to hear their thoughts in the coming weeks.

As for the Aquila team we have been busy filtering our overseas trips and delivering a no of projects for clients here at home and It feels like our feet have not touched the ground. Lots of interesting and new things happening in the next few months and much work to be done. Well done to the Heart of England team based at AWM in Birmingham for sending us all over there to show how great our region is. Please let us have any other interesting links, posts and oddities and we'll keep updating things here.

The Heart of England has made a massive impact in Austin, as the largest part of the UK contingent, with a stand as big as Google's and their pure "bostin" charm.

The team on the ground from HofE/UKTI/AWM are hosting the Midlanders and visitors at the large stand in the exhibition hall, and many have been to sample their hospitality. This year's team is Robbie Beak, Jonathan Webber, Charlie Rowell and Dan Licari.

They are getting leads on US businesses needing help to locate in UK as well as supporting the HofE delegates to showcase their talents. More information on how they can help you can be found on their website or by getting in touch with the team in the UK.

As well as these 4, Jason Hall and Sarah Arnesen are representing Screen WM our regional screen & digital support agency. Jason is blogging his thoughts from SXSW too on the Screen WM blog.

Aquila's team of 2 Nat Higginbottom and Phil Campbell, are over in Texas capturing content for use by the Heart of England Team and the delegate companies in promoting their activities/thoughts in our region and abroad. You can follow their progress and thoughts at http://heartofaustin.com or for a more informal take http://exsanguinator.co.uk.

30 Representatives have been taking part in events hosted by various UKTI initiatives whilst over in Austin and you can read so their thoughts so far.

383_long

From developing iphone shopping apps and overhauling hotel websites to designing the interior of a burger bar and the BBC’s White City offices, 383 Project has a wide skills set.

The full service agency, based in a beautiful grade II listed building in the heart of Birmingham, splits its disciplines broadly in to branding, print, new media and interior design.

One of its recent interior design projects is the redesign of the BBC’s White City offices in London. Historically the building had been poorly zoned, navigable only by numbered corridors and undefined zones. 383 Project developed an entirely new scheme which addressed the practical implications of navigating the building, whilst also embracing elements of the BBC’s brand and heritage.

An interactive installation for the reception area was produced to tie the overall branding scheme together, improving the guests connection with the space as soon as they entered. The entire building was rezoned into colour coded areas to ensure easier navigation.

But it’s not just interiors which 383 Project helps people to navigate. Easy to use and effective web design is another one of its strengths. For BDL Hotels, one of the UK’s largest hotel operators behind Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Ramada Encore, 383 Project were commissioned to redevelop the entire BDL hotel portfolio. And they had less than nine months in which to design 30 websites.

Each site needed to run off an easy to manage CMS providing different author privileges whilst also handling aggregated content from other sister hotel sites. As well as being accessible, search engine-friendly and standards-compliant the sites also included a booking engine, weather report, currency convertor and integrated route planner. An additional 30 hotels will use the new design in the next 18 months.

383 Project is also recognised as an expert in retail as Creative Director John Newbold explains: ““A lot of our work within the West Midlands centres around marketing the huge retail offer. There's a lot to shout about to attract visitors in to the city and so our main area of interest is how as an agency we can ensure that we are marketing the retail offer effectively. Last year we launched the Midlands’ first way-finding and shopping iPhone app for Retail Birmingham. Having clients within the region who see the value in adopting new creative such as this is always exciting, and so we're looking forward to seeing this trend increase next year.

I strongly believe that the West Midlands is one of the most innovative sectors in terms of digital creative -anywhere in the country. We are neighbours to a number of excellent smaller agencies doing fantastic work across a variety of sectors. The trend for innovation is catalysed by larger organisations who both contribute greatly to the digital economy of the region, both by commissioning projects in the sector, and linking us in with other regions to ensure there is still collaboration across a national and international platform.”

Trilby was established in 1993 with the aim of using new and emerging media formats for the benefit of social and cultural development. Trilby works primarily in the public sector providing a range of electronic solutions for a variety of social needs.

Based in listed buildings dating back to the 18th and early 19th century in Birmingham's Gun Quarter, Trilby vividly blends the heritage of its Midlands’ location with a forward-thinking ethos: that is, an understanding of how computers can break down barriers of learning and lead people to a new understanding of their abilities.

Other early adoption activity from Trilby included the establishment of an electronic community called BeComm - before the web was invented.

Today, Trilby boasts a multipurpose conference and training area called the Red Space, a production studio space with dedicated areas for design and production as well as a network data centre plus a mini sound recording and broadcasting studio, video editing suite and our TV and Webcast studio space.
